I personally receive Chiropractic care several times a month, follow a regimen of clinical nutrition, and try to never miss my weekly massage. Routine exercise is accomplished with my skiing, mountain biking, and lots of yard work.

I wish I had known then what I know now and I may have been able to avoid many years of debilitating migraine headaches.
My original training was as a Nuclear Engineering Instructor for the U. S. Navy. While there I started having a significant problem with migraine headaches. The Navy sent me to multiple hospitals and put me on a number of medications, which, as it turned out, could not be used while working at a Nuclear facility. So I was given a Medical discharge with a 50% disability for Migraines. During the course of coming to and from Naval Medical Hospitals, I met Dr. Mark Woodland, a Chiropractic Physician from Idaho Falls, Idaho who encouraged me to come see him professionally. Dr. Woodland did more for my migraine headache problem one night in his home than multiple Naval Hospitals and all their medications were able to do. As a result I investigated Chiropractic and ended up attending Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, the oldest and most prestigious Chiropractic College in the world. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Palmer College in 1979 and have been in private practice for the past 43 years.
Having already been in an undergraduate pre-med program, I was amazed at the depth and quality of instruction! I particularly enjoyed my relationship with Dr. Virgil V. Strang, both as an instructor and mentor. I was one of the lucky few that got to work with him in his private clinic on a weekly basis for over 3 years. I still use many of the things he taught me in my office today. One of his favorite sayings was “We are not merely human beings, we are humans being.”
